Environmental Science Assignments

This is where each week's assignments in Environmental Science will be posted. Students taking AP Environmental Science should refer to the APES Assignments page.

Week 38: Tuesday, May 31st – Friday, June 3rd

Hello for the final time this school year! I hope you had a peaceful and relaxing Memorial Day weekend. This week, we'll be building solar ovens in class, and then on Friday, we'll try to bake some biscuits using the sun. The forecast looks great right now, but it's northeast Ohio, so who knows!

I hope you enjoy your final week as juniors! Thanks for all of your hard work this school year. Please consider signing up to take Intro to Computer Science, AP Computer Science Principles, or AP Computer Science A (Java) with me next school year. Have a great summer break, and I'll see you in the fall!

Week 37: Monday, May 23rd – Friday, May 27th

Hello again! This is our final week with our seniors, so here's how we're wrapping up the course:

Congratulations to the Class of 2022 on making it through such a challenging time! I wish you all the success in the future, and I hope you keep in touch and come back to visit.

Week 36: Monday, May 16th – Friday, May 20th

This is the week! On Tuesday, we'll take our annual all-day field trip to the Hiram College Biological Field Station. The weather forecast looks clear but cool, so wear hiking boots/old tennis shoes, long pants or jeans, and a hat, and bring a water bottle and bug spray. For lunch, we'll have cheese pizza, a bag of chips, a granola bar and a pop or bottled water. If you haven't done so already, PLEASE BRING YOUR SIGNED PERMISSION FORM TO SCHOOL ON MONDAY. We'll be doing the equivalent of five assignments on the field trip, so you'll definitely want to attend so that you don't have to do the make-up assignments on your own. Here's the plan for the week:

We're really going to luck out with the weather for the field trip, so I hope you have fun and enjoy the experience of being in the old growth forest. Let me know if you have any questions!

Week 35: Monday, May 9th – Friday, May 13th

The weather forecast week looks gorgeous, so we're going to be going outside as much as possible this week in order to prepare for the Hiram field trip on Tuesday, May 17th. Here's the plan:

Make sure you bring back your field trip permission form this week so that you're allowed to go. Have a great week! Please let me know if you have any questions.

Week 34: Monday, May 2nd – Friday, May 6th

It's finally May – the last full month of school! We're going to wrap up our action unit and start working on some of the field metrics we'll be using at the Hiram College Biological Field Station on Tuesday, May 17th. Here's what we're doing for this week:

If you went to Prom, I hope you had fun! I hope you have a wonderful first week of May! Please let me know if you have any questions or need help with anything. Take care and stay safe!

Week 22: Monday, January 31st – Friday, February 4th

Welcome to the end of January! With the bad weather that's predicted this week, I'm pretty confident that we're going to have six more weeks of winter, regardless of whatever that groundhog says. Here's the plan for this week:

The winter storm that will hit us on Wednesday may alter our plans if we have a snow/ice day later in the week, but if that's the case, we'll just get caught up later. I hope you have a great week! As always, please let me know if you have any questions.

Welcome to the first week of 2022! I hope you were able to relax and stay safe over Winter Break. Here's the plan for this week:
