Welcome to the first full week of school! I hope that school has started well for you and any issues you had with your schedule have all been worked out. Now that we've had a few days to get to know each other a little better, we can get to work! Here's what we're doing in class this week:
Lesson 1.1: Cybersecurity and Social Engineering Basics
Lesson 1.2: Why Social Engineering Works and What It Causes
This unit is full of fundamental cybersecurity concepts that we'll use throughout the entire course, so make sure you complete all the activities, and let me know if you have any questions. Have a great week!
Welcome to the 2026-2027 school year! I'm excited to have you in class, and I hope you're looking forward to a good year of learning about cybersecurity.
The AP Cybersecurity course is designed to be the equivalent of a one-semester college-level introduction to cybersecurity course. This course allows students to explore defense-in-depth strategies and learn to address specific vulnerabilities, attacks, mitigations, and detection measures across a variety of domains, including physical spaces, computer networks, devices, applications, and data. We'll also learn advanced computing techniques, such as the Linux shell, basic scripting, and fundamentals of computer networking.
